PAXTON was the most nominated band for the 1999 GLAMA Awards with nominations for "Best Band", Best New Artist" and "Song Of The Year" among such other artists as Ani DiFranco, Rufus Wainwright, and The B52s. During the summer of 1998 and into 1999 Paxton toured across America opening for bands including, Stephen Stills at The Fillmore, Da Da and The Tubes. PAXTON replaced Wynnona Judd for several shows on the Bolton/Wynnona tour. Billboard Online calls PAXTON, "far more clever and intelligent than many of his major-label contemporaries". On the band's first CD release guest artists such as Jimi Destri from Blondie and John Waite loaned their talents. An introduction to the CD was provided by long time manager and producer of The Rolling Stones, Andrew Loog Oldham.

Bio info:

Following a chance meeting between singer/songwriter Paxton and bassist Randy Jordan, who was playing with ledgendary rockers "The Front", the unlikely pair hit it off and began cutting the kind of twisted power-pop songs that would form the nucleus of their debut CD. Through Jordan, Paxton was introduced to former "Pleasure Bomb" lead guitarist David Matos and rhythm guitarist Rick Kolster. Ex-"Xanax25" drummer Rob Cournoyer was recruited as a permanent member by Jordan and Kolster following several unsuccessful stints by a number of temporary timekeepers.

Excerpted lyrics from the song "A Little Better."
"used to be I wanted you to love me now I wonder why
today if you were splattered in the subway, I don't even think I'd cry"

"yesterday you pissed on me
tomorrow you'll be history
the rest is just a mystery. oh, yeaaaah!" Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
