The Mold Monkies started as a power-pop experiment between New Haven-area songwriters Nick Appleby (Chopper, Absolute Zeros) and Russell Shaddox (Buzzbaby, Biff and the Squids). The band's current lineup also includes guitarist Thad Brown. Their 2005 debut album, O Brave Yet Ignorant Swine, garnered good reviews from regional press.
