Neighbor Dan is a four-piece band with members from Ohio and Pennsylvania, United States formed in 2020 that plays complex heavy music with post-punk, post-metal, screamo, prog-rock, sludge and hardcore influences. The band in its current line up consists of TJ Costanza (Guitar, vocals), Zack Lovitz (bass). and brothers Phillip Gioan (Guitar, vocals) and Shawn Gioan (drums). Neighbor Dan's sound can’t be boxed in to any one (or five) specific genres, but they incorporate lots of time signature changes, complex melodies, ethereal soundscapes, and crushing riffage. The band maintains a sound that is distinct, original and very much their own. The band's first release was a self-titled demo consisting of six songs, released in 2020. Their second release was a six song EP entitled Rat Laughter recorded and mixed by Josh Roman of Mind Rocket Studios. In July of 2022 Chumpire records released a split 12 inch split record featuring Neighbor Dan and The Ghost of Fu Kang Walker. Neighbor Dan's side was entitled "The Ghost of Fu Kang Walker".
