Egoism first started as a one man band, founded by Jacopo Beraldo during 2003. He started composing songs following the stile of the earlier Death (Leprosy, Human), taking care of all the instruments, drum machine and vocals. After a few years, Jacopo met Mario and Stefano, respectively the bass player and the other guitar player, thanks to a common friend, Andrea Petucco of Death Heaven. After putting apart the very first stuff composed by Jacopo, they started to compose together, using again programmed drum machines to replace the drummer work. Finally, in the fall of 2005, Jacopo met Alberto, a drummer at his very first attempts behind the skins, but neverthless able to astonish for speed and brutality. After a few month, the now completely formed quartet started to reharse togheter, sharing a small room with thrashers Narcoleptix (thanks for all!). Again, the band put apart the old stuff, and started composing new songs, less technical but with grater impact, thanks also to the ritmic section and to the use of three vocalists. During 2006, the band composed new songs, more fast and technical than the past, but the composition process became slower, also for growing musical divergences between the band members. Finally, during the summer of 2007, Mario and Stefano, with the unestimable aid of Andrea Petucco, recorded the first demo of the band, including Warm Infection, Discipline ov Regression and Legion 93. During the last months, incomprehensions between members grew, and finally Jacopo, the Egoism founder, left the band during the recording of the demo, replaced after a few months by Daniele (Brutal Boy), a valid guitar player and good friend of the band.
The future still needs to be written.
We would like to thank:
Andrea Petucco, for his friendship and all the help given to the band, expecially for recording. Jacopo, for all the time passed togheter and for having started all this. You'll be forever a great friend.
