Amy Atchley grew up singing and performing in her hometown of Houston, TX. She began singing in church choir at age 3 and from there attended music magnet schools. In the 1990s, Amy attended the University of Texas in Austin, earning her BA in vocal performance. Amy then began performing and writing with acts Hush and Fabu. Her experiences with Hush and Fabu led to her 1999 solo debut, Speeding.

In 2000, Amy moved to New York City with husband/saxophone great Elias Haslanger. In New York City, she performed extensively in the local music scene and developed a strong presence in that community. She shared showcases with Angie Aparo, Jessie Harris, Amy Rigby, Carey Pierce (Jacopierce), Ani DeFranco, Ron Sexsmith, Abra Moore, Charlie Sexton, Terri Hendrix, David Garza, Michael Fracasso, and more. In 2003, Amy released her 2nd solo CD entitled Wish, produced by Steve Walsh.

After 4 1/2 years of living and performing in New York City's music scene, Amy decided to reconnect with her roots and moved home to Austin, TX. Amy can be heard at local venues in the Austin and surrounding area.
