Alchemilla is a conglomerate of old and new influences including Billie Holiday, Sonic Youth, Neil Young, Radiohead and Jimi Hendrix. If Sylvia Plath and Jimmy Page got into a fist fight, and later had drinks with The Doors and Sleater Kinney, Alchemilla would be playing in the background....

Just as alchemy was the practice of turning something worthless into something priceless, Alchemilla attempts to create something beautiful from nothing. Swirling, infectious vocal hooks are coupled with driving rhythms and controlled distortion to produce a style of melodic hard rock that is aggresive yet thoughtful. Sociological lyrics contain political undertones with a blend of sarcastic optimism.

Formed originally in BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS in the summer of 2000, they have played numerous shows at Boston area venues including The Paradise, TT The Bears' Place, The Middle East, and the Lizard Lounge. They have shared stages and cocktails with such acts as Sad Marvin, Thick As Theives, Common Thrill, The Charms, Amusia, and Mistle Thrush.

Instrumentation includes 2 guitars, bass, drums and vocals.
