Simps Da 45 as his friends called him, short for (Simpson) and the volume of his lyrical velocity (45caliber) when shooting rap lyrics against friends on neighborhood street corners as a youth. At the age of 18 young Simps decided to take his raw skills seriously and began honing his craft while working with various local hip hop artists learning the art of free styling.

He adopted the name Mr. Northside by way of North Sacramento staying grounded to his roots while representing his suburb in numerous songs. Simps Da 45 music career has consisted of various guest spots on many local hip hop artists tracks to include JGib’s previous album.

Simps da 45 has released 2 mix tapes called: I Don’t like Rappers and When the Smoke Clears. Voted best new artist in Sacramento from his peers is a testimony to his hard work, dedication and fan devotion.

Asked recently during a radio interview to describe a Simps Da 45 cd to the general public? Jarret stated: his music represents the dark side of life and the struggles of taking the bull by the horn approach and grind for every inch of the mile of success. Roads taken often dictate the outcome when climbing the game of music. This is an industry that is known to chew you up and spit you out, if you know what I mean? It’s not what you have done for me in the past but what has been done in the present. I take my journey on this road very seriously and try to learn from my mistakes created along the way”

Simps continued to state 2010 is the year of guap (money) for Caligold and be on the look out this summer for his debut album called: Call It What You Want featuring “Check My Finesse and On Eyythang”
