Canadian rock singer Bryan Adams and US rock and soul singer Tina Turner collaborated on the track "It's Only Love", taken from Bryan's 1984 album "Reckless". It was released as a single in spring 1985. A music video was also issued, recorded one night during Tina's Private Dancer Tour.

Adams and Turner continued to collaborate during the late 1980s and 1990s. First on Tina's 1986 album "Break Every Rule", which featured the Bryan Adams/Jim Vallance penned rocker "Back Where You Started". Adams also produced this song, along with another recording from these sessions; a cover of Aswad's "Don't Turn Around". The live recording from the "It's Only Love" music video appeared on the album "Tima Live" in 1988. Bryan performed the song solo on his live album, "Live! Live! Live!", recorded at Werchter '88.

While Adams was absent on both "Foreign Affair" and Tina's hits compilation "Simply The Best", he returned at the helm on 1993's "What's Love Got To Do With It" soundtrack album. The track "Why Must We Wait Until Tonight", both written and produced by Adams, was the third and final single of the album, and is not a straight forward rock song like previous Adams and Turner recordings. Also in 1993, Bryan's greatest hits package "So Far So Good" was released, featuring the 1984 album version of "It's Only Love". The track again appeared on Turner's 1994 boxed set "The Collected Recordings - Sixties To Nineties".

In 1999, Bryan Adams once more colloborated with Tina Turner on her album "Twenty Four Seven". Adams provided vocals on both "Without You" and the album's title track. They performed the two songs together during Tina's concert in London, in November 1999. In recent years, both Adams and Turner have performed "It's Only Love" in concert, but never as a duet.
