It's Only Make Believe Lyrics

People see us everywhere
They think you really care
But myself I can't deceive
I know it's only make believe.

My one and only prayer is that some day you'll care
My hopes, my dreams come true, my one and only you
No one will ever know how much I love you so
My only prayer will be, someday you'll care for me
But it's o-only make believe

My hopes, my dreams come true, my life I'd give for you
My heart, a wedding ring, my all, my everything
My heart I can't control, you rule my very soul
My only prayer will be, someday you'll care for me
But it's o-only make believe

My one and only prayer, is that some day you'll care
My hopes, my dreams come true, my one and only you
No one will ever know how much I love you so
My prayer, my hopes and my schemes, you are my every dream

But it's o-only make believe

There are two Robert Gordons. 1) An American rockabilly revivalist. 2) A British techno producer.

1) Robert Gordon (b. 1947), or simply “R.G.” as his friends call him, grew up in Bethesda, M.D., a suburb of Washington D.C. Unlike many of his heroes, he had a relatively comfortable childhood. "Heartbreak Hotel" was the wake-up call for a new generation, and Gordon was no exception. Even though he was only nine years old in 1956, he still clearly remembers the impact of hearing it for the first time, and adds that it is this song that made him want to pursue a musical career. Some of his other early influences include Jack Scott and Gene Vincent.

2) Robert Gordon is a Sheffield-based producer and co-founder of Warp Records. Most of his output is under pseudonyms (including "Track With No Name" as Forgemasters which was Warp's first release), but he has put out a handful of EPs and a full-length under his own name.
