Waltel Branco (Paranaguá, Paraná, Brazil, November 22, 1929 - November 28, 2018) was a Brazilian musician, conductor, soundtrack composer and arranger. He composed, among many others, the soundtrack for the Brazilian telenovela "Assim Na Terra Como No Céu".
He played with Dorival Caymmi , Nana Caymmi , João Gilberto , made arrangements for Roberto Carlos , Cazuza , Tim Maia , Djavan , Cartola , Gal Costa , Maria Creuza , Vanuza , Mercedes Sosa , Astor Piazzola , Zé Keti , Peri Ribeiro , Sérgio Ricardo , Tom Jobim , Tomaz Lima and many others.
Waltel Branco had a long career as conductor, composer, musician and arranger. In the early 1950s he had the opportunity to play jazz in Cuba (with Mongo Santamaria, Perez Prado and Chico O'Farrill) and after that in the US and Europe.
