Pop/rock, singer-songwriter Neil Davis is making a name for himself by performing on the local music scene throughout his hometown, New York City. Davis, 22, has performed in more venues than his own age. He frequents various Manhattan music landmarks like the infamous Bitter End, Rockwood Music Hall, Pianos and The National Underground- to name a few.

Neil is currently finishing writing and recording his first album, which is set for release later this year. It includes the perfect combination of piano driven pop songs, and raspy rock vocals. His catchy, yet heart-filled songs tell stories about life, love, heartbreak, and hope.

Neil's first toy was the piano. Before he could even write complete sentences, he was playing nursery rhymes by ear and figuring out popular melodies on a keyboard that he received for Christmas at the age of five. Soon after, Neil began classical piano lessons but always came home and turned a sonata into his own song. He continued to develop his talent throughout his four years of High School while attending the Frank Sinatra School for the Arts, founded by world renowned entertainer Tony Bennett. The competitive program at the school offered a rigorous performing arts curriculum that prepared Davis for the career he knew he always wanted.

Through years of practice, persistence, and performing, Neil has managed to maintain an extremely upbeat, positive attitude about his chosen profession. "Even though the pursuit of music can be extremely frustrating at times, when you have a natural desire to do something, it's unavoidable," he says. "If someone wants it bad enough, their passion and drive will get them there. For me, nothing can get in the way." Read more on Last.fm.
