1) Jerry Miller (born in Tacoma, Washington, on 10 July 1943; died 20 July 2024) was an American singer, guitarist, and songwriter remembered for being a co-founder of Moby Grape. As well as some solo recordings, Miller led Jerry Miller Band during the 1990s. He was #68 on Rolling Stone magazine's 2003 list of the 100 greatest guitarists of all time.
In the early 1960s, Miller and Don Stevenson were members of The Frantics, a US Pacific Northwest bar band based in Seattle. The band relocated to San Francisco and, with the addition of Bob Mosley, formed the nucleus of what would become Moby Grape.
In the late summer of 1969, subsequent to the release of Moby Grape's last album for Columbia, "Truly Fine Citizen", Miller and Don Stevenson joined with John Barrett (bass) and John "Fuzzy" Oxendine (drums) to form The Rhythm Dukes. The Rhythm Dukes disbanded in 1971, when Moby Grape reformed to record 20 Granite Creek.
In the 1990s, he fronted Jerry Miller Band, with Kim Workman on bass, and Tom Murphy and Darin Watkins on drums, among other musicians.
In Autumn 2007, the 60-year-old Burton was assaulted and gravely injured in what was viewed as a random, gang-oriented attack, with those responsible never identified.
2) Jerry Miller is an American guitarist originally from Nashville who, after being a longtime resident in Boston, now lives in Bloomington, Indiana. He released "New Road Under My Wheels" in 2013.
