Cockpit formed in 2003 and hail from Hollywood, California when drummer Rachael Rine decided to form an all female hard rock band. Cockpit was originally a cover band as Rine felt this would be a good way to help secure a line up that would still prove to be a rotating door with close to twenty different members before their reign ended in 2010. The band itself was highly regarded for their high energy guitar laden rock, and even with only one Ep release in 2008 titled "Mission To Rock" this was enough to help carry them along with their explosive live shows, even with contending that the release was long awaited almost five years after they began, but securing an all female lineup, mainly a strong female lead guitarist , proved to be challenge. Guitarist Stephanie Pickard, would be the lead on the Ep itself but was replaced soon after by Alicia Blu, who both were in a long line of lead guitarist that came and went, by 2010 the band found themselves wanting to go different ways after Alicia Blu's departure, front woman Linda Lou plays in the co-ed band Marishi Ten, drummer Rachael Rine went on to play with the reformed now all female band Femme Fatale with Lorriane Lewis, and currently plays in the cover band Paradise Kitty Read more on Last.fm.
