Although this band is best known for a peculiar cover of a song by Colombian Karol G (Bichota", which in the Chilean version takes the name "post-punk"), FrioLento's concerns have indie-rock roots and an obvious pop vocation. Very quickly, the passionate but strategic work of this group founded in 2018 has managed to position them with relevance even beyond their city of origin, Concepción.

While he was finishing his studies in sound technology, Cris Alejandro worked as a baker and composer at the same time. In 2018 he released a solo EP with his own compositions (FrioLento), for the live promotion of which he invited drummer Zebart Arias (his partner in the band Temporada de Verano) and bassist Chris Arriola. The singles "Un gusto" (a duet with Cantáreman) and "Mal tratao" stand out enough from that debut to secure them a place on the Penquista label SurPop Records and in the sixth edition of the Rock En Conce-REC festival (although public accusations against the bass player for sexual abuse led the rest of the band to cancel their participation in the event).

Disco Invierno (2020), their first full-length, pursued pop with a retro flavour, in dance music with a melancholic essence and dry humour in the lyrics. This aesthetic was later reinforced in new recordings, including a track with the group Arranquemos del Invierno ("X la chucha") on EP 44 (2021), and the unexpected single "Bichota (Post-Punk)", a cover of a hit by Colombian Karol G that became a viral phenomenon and even reached the ears of its author (who, in October 2022, told Variety that she was "fascinated" with the tribute).

This exercise in style, baptised by the band as "post-punk perreo" (the concept came to title their second album, in 2021), continued later with more recordings of a cross between pop, machines and romantic ballads, with their own versions of classics by Hispanic American figures such as Nino García, Raw Alejandro, Bad Bunny and Rocío Durcal, as well as their own compositions along the same lines. Their success in this task was a surprising catalyst for FrioLento to support the Belarusian band Molchat Doma in their debut in Chile, in April 2022 at the Teatro Caupolicán, and to access international performances for the first time, with shows in Peru, Mexico, Spain and Argentina. A year later, their single "Blin blin" showcased the band's work with the prestigious producer Cristián Heyne. Read more on Last.fm.
