Energetic power pop with the classic tastes you love -- Sluice Fanzine

Camacho, originally from Decatur, AL, is known for their energetic performances and eclectic songwriting. They look for harmony in dissonance, tastefulness in technicality, and modernity in the classics.

The band was formed by longtime friends Joe Canada and AC Segler in 2015, with fellow friend and drummer Alex Powell rounding out the core line-up. The next three years saw the band's first two releases (2016's "Menace" and 2017's "Revival", packaged together in 2020 as simply "CAMACHO") while playing various venues throughout the Southeast U.S. After a brief period of live hiatus due to the pandemic, the album "Whoever You Are" was released independently on New Year's Day 2021. With the addition of bassist Heath Brister (X.Y. Spaces, In Irons), the foursome hit the studio later that year to record what would become their first releases of 2022; the singles "Something To Do" and "Fragments".

In November 2022 came the bands first release through 10 Ton Records, "Garden Grow". Engineered, mixed and mastered by 10 Ton head honcho Jeremy Stephens, the six tracks are the band's strongest work to date and represent all of their various sonic ingredients; jangly power pop (Broken Bridge, Migration), atmospheric alternative (An Afterthought), uptempo synth rock (Epiphany, Jokes), and electric folk balladry (Admit It).
