Mindset X was born from the ashes of a former project of singer/guitarist Steven Scott Haidaichuk and drummer Adam Cote. Jerry Houle (bass) later joined the group and Mindset X came into being. Since the inception of the band in 2004, Mindset X has toured all over New England making a name for themselves, and building a fanbase. They have recorded and released StateCraft (2005), Physics (2006), Generation RX(2007), Thread (2008), and ASTV(As Seen On TV) (2009). Along with BiPolar(2008) a 3 song EP. And This EP is Self-Titled.(2009.) Both EP's were distributed to fans as promotional items. They then went back into the studio and added some more tracks to the CD entitling it ,"AS SEEN ON TV" ASTV has made a great buzz about the band, and has gained alot of popularity because of tracks such as "SHEEPLE", and "Sunset Blvd."

Mindset X has opened for such bands as Days of the New, Gary Hoey, Lillian Axe, Overkill, and won the coveted spot on the 2nd stage at Meadowbrook, opening for KORN (with an hour long set) May 2009. They then opened for Sevendust, a showcase for Capitol Records, and most recently opened for Saving Abel and Hinder on 2/5/11, and a second show with Saving Abel on 5/14/2011, and opened for Tantric on 5/15/2011. They are slated to open for CANDLEBOX on August 7th. Mindset X has also been on the ballot for the Grammy nominations twice for their work with CD, THREAD. They have many videos on you tube, and most of them are available on their website.
