Mila Dietrich (born Marion Daries, 1995) is a French electronic music DJ and producer from Marseille, currently based in Paris.
Biography
Dietrich's musical career began at age 14 as a drummer in various rock bands, where she explored genres including rock, punk, and metal. Seeking greater creative and professional opportunities, she transitioned to electronic music in 2014, teaching herself production through intensive studio sessions using Ableton Live.
She relocated from Marseille to Paris to access the city's larger electronic music scene, which she considered essential for developing her career. In Paris, she co-founded the DJ collective Conspiration alongside other emerging artists.
Musical Style and Influences
Dietrich's sound blends techno, electro, and minimal, characterized by dark atmospheres, prominent basslines, and her own vocals. She cites her rock background as a primary influence, alongside cold wave, post-punk, rap, and electroclash. She has named Helena Hauff and Jennifer Cardini as artistic reference points and credits Sara Zinger as a mentor in developing her style.
Collaborations and Projects
Dietrich has released music through labels including Civil Disobedience Records, Dense Audio, Carton Pate Records, Occultech Records, and Hear Recordings. She forms one half of the duo Siamese Society with producer Eisenower, creating cinematic techno with acid and drum machine elements. She also performs B2B sets with artist Cassie Raptor.
Her track Whatever was licensed for a L'Oréal television advertisement, and she has collaborated with French pop group Yelle on remix work.
