The Bruskers - Giorgo Borgatti, Matteo Minozzi and Eugenio Polacchini – took their first steps together in 2003. The particularity of this guitar trio, in itself not an unusual formation, is the idea of bringing together three different styles and conceptions of guitar playing: the result of the different musical formation of the three members of the group. While all three musicians started young, they come from different musical backgrounds: Eugenio is classically trained (degree in classical guitar at the Conservatory), Giorgio shows the artistic flair and the unconventionality of contemporary/rock music, while Matteo embodies a fusion of both these streams. The result is an original and unconventional fusion of ideas, sounds and rhythms whose contrasts are overcome by a common viewpoint resulting in an original and creative end product.
In the early daze the three musicians were intrigued by the world of street busking and took part in numerous festivals in various towns both in Italy and abroad (including Munich and Salzburg). Later, a desire for more intimate surroundings led them to perform in places that were more suitable to an attentive audience. In the last two years the Bruskers have performed for audiences in various venues, theatres, private events, art exhibitions and also interesting and enjoyable collaborations with local radio stations. The three musicians also called to collaborate by their didactic activity in the music school “Scuola di Musica dell’Unione dei Comuni Modenesi Area Nord” and by their roles as solo artists in the “Lybra Guitar Orchestra”.
The Bruskers Guitar Trio already have one album to their name, “Blue Bruskers” (2006), which includes their personal interpretations of jazz and bossanova standards. As of January 2008, the trio is back in the recording studio working on their new album due for release in March/April. This album will continue in the direction of the first album, but with the introduction of personal interpretations of pop songs and with a number of original compositions.
