Lamar Thomas, Producer, Songwriter, Performer and author
Has been making music for more than 40 years. He has worked as a producer and artist for Columbia, MCA, United Artist and Chrysalis Records.

Some of the artist that I have written songs for or worked in the studio with, include, Johnny Bristol, Garland Green, Chuck Jackson, Santa, Nancy Wilson, Maynard Ferguson, and Johnnie Taylor. This is a very small list, and so I must say that I have been blessed to do some of the things that i have done.

Judy and I were a songwriter on the Grammy Nominated Album, "Gotta get the groove Back" by the Late Johnnie Taylor. We lost the Grammy to the Temptations. We were upset but ok with who we lost to.

This album also rendered my first # 1 Billboard Album on the Blues Charts. My wife (Judy) and I are listed in the British Guiness Book of Hit Singles for weeks on the Charts in the UK/Europe in 1986.

I have written three books of poetry, essays and stoties about living black in america. My fourth book, Life , Love and Answered Prayers is set for release in September, 2008. It covers my life growing up in Mississippi and in New York.


At present, Judy and I are working on a major project for release in early January, 2009. The project is our first Studio recording together as Thomas and Taylor in more thamn 20 years. The project is entitled, "Random Interruption" and is dedicated to the 80th birthday of the late, Dr, Martin Luther King Jr.
