Looking for You Lyrics

Wide awake, chasing sleep
Life's so bittersweet
Like a dream, remembering
When I could talk to you
We were safe in a world of harm
Before I knew it our love was gone
I miss you so much

I'm looking for you
Cause you're all that's true to me
You make me smile

I had to fall, and lose it all
But that's all right with me
You pushed aside my selfish pride
You opened up my eyes
When I was lost you came to me
You crossed the oceans to set me free
I need you so much

Looking for you
Cause you're all that's true to me
You make me smile

You, you're all I ever needed
I know, I know
Only you, you're all I ever wanted
I know, I know
You, you're more than a dream
Yeah you're everything
My own symphony
You're my destiny

I'm looking for you
Cause you're all that's true to me
You make me smile

I'm Looking for you
I sing this for you
Cause nothing's as true
You make me smile
So I smile, yeah I smile
Every time I think of you
I smile, I do
Oh every time I think of you

I'm looking for you
Cause you are my soul's desire
I'm searching for you
Yes you are my soul's desire
I'm looking for you
Cause you are my soul's desire

I'm all right, I'm okay, it's for sure
Only when I'm next to you
You are my soul's desire
I'm all right, I'm okay, it's for sure
Only cause I'm next to you
You are my soul's desire

My soul's desire
My my my soul's desire
Oh yeah, oh yeah
You are, you are

According to frontman and DC Talk member Michael Tait, the band Tait was born in 1996 when he met drummer Chad Chapin. The two performed a cover of the song Curious George, followed by a bevy of Pearl Jam tracks. From this, Tait emerged and added two new members, former Grammatrain member Pete Stewart and former Petra bass player Lonnie Chapin.

The group is named for Michael Tait's late father, of whom he says "taught me how to appreciate the human experience whether it be a sunny day, a beautiful lawn, or amazing trees set before an amazing mountain. He taught me how to love and embrace mankind, whether it be a Chinese girl hanging out with a black guy whose mom is a white lady." As for the band's mission, Michael Tait says, "...ultimately I hope and pray [people] see the Gospel... People look for so many other ways to fill the emptiness in their lives, and there's just no way to do it besides Christ."

Musically, the band blends the styles of modern rock, pop, funk, soul, and R&B. Michael Tait describes the group as "guitar-toting, drum-slinging rockers." Preceding the release of their 2001 debut album, Empty, Tait performed selections from the project all over the world, including Amsterdam. Read more on Last.fm.
