Krzysztof Urbaniak (born May 5, 1984 in Turek) is a Polish organist and harpsichordist, organ expert, publisher of early music and university professor.

Life and Work:
Urbaniak graduated from the Warsaw Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music (today Fryderyk Chopin University of Music) in 2007 in the organ class of Józef Serafin and the harpsichord class of Leszek Kędracki. In 2010 he graduated with distinction from the Stuttgart University of Music and Performing Arts in Ludger Lohmann's organ class and Jörg Halubek's harpsichord class (artistic training and concert exam). Between 2005 and 2016 he was the recipient of various scholarships. Urbaniak graduated from the Academy of Music in 2012 Doctorate in Kraków. His habilitation followed in 2016 at the Music Academy in Łódź. He has won prizes at international organ competitions and has made several CD recordings. International concert activity has taken him to various European countries and to Japan. He is a juror at various organ competitions, e.g. the International Schnitger Organ Competition in Alkmaar (2015, 2019) and the International Gottfried Silbermann Competition in Freiberg (2017).

As an organ expert, member of international organ commissions and board member of the Baltic Organ Center in Stralsund, Urbaniak has accompanied the restoration and reconstruction of historic organs, such as the Gröninger organ and the organ by Andreas Hildebrandt in Pasłęk. From 2013 to 2016 he was organ expert of the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. During the same period he was employed as artist in residence at the Filharmonia Łódzka. At the State University of Music in Łódź he is Professor of Organ and Head of the Institute for Harpsichord, Organ, Church Music and Historical Instruments. He is a lecturer in improvisation and historical organ building at the Academy of Music in Kraków.

Together with Martin Rost, he published the long-lost choral variations by the Danzig composer Daniel Magnus Gronau, together with his registration instructions, which represent the largest surviving collection of registrations from the 18th century.

Since 2018 he has been the curator of both organs of the Filharmonia Łódzka, he is the artistic director of the organ festival at the Hildebrandt organ in Pasłęk and the International Organ Days at the Hummel/Nitrowski organ in Olkusz.
