Sofia Viola is an Argentinian singer, composer and actress with an overflowing talent. She composes songs in which she professes her unconditional love for Latin American folklore in all its dimensions and in which she tells micro stories that speak of love, ecology, junk food and universal themes from her particular vision and grace.
Her style was formed in the suburban tango, but she also draws from rock music and the Argentinian “Tropical Wave” style.
With only 29 years, and already 13 years on the stages, she travels accompanied by her guitar and her charangón and, true to her nomadic style, she has toured Argentina and many neighboring countries such as Chile, Uruguay, Bolivia, Peru, Brazil and Colombia, after which she jumped across the ocean to appear in Europe, where she has played in Madrid, Barcelona, Zaragoza, Pirineos Sur and Berlin.
Throughout her journey, she was received and loved by audiences of all ages. The thing is that Sofia Viola’s live performance is astounding, with her acid humor that springs naturally. Her talent on stage is at the service of the author’s song, with an indiefolk touch in tangos, milongas, cumbias, vallenatos, boleros, blues, among many other rhythms she both absorbs and composes.
She was selected by the official juries to showcase her music in the cultural markets of: Imesur in Chile (2016), Circulart in Colombia (2017), FIMPRO in Mexico (2018), BIME-Pro in Bilbao and Mapas in Canary Islands, Spain.
During 2018 she went on a tour around several Mexican states. She also toured Colombia with the colombian musician Edson Velandia (with whom she also composed music).
She is released her fourth album “La huella de cemento” (“The Cement Footprint”) in Spain with the Chesapik label, and in the rest of the world with Los Años Luz Discos label. The presentation of the album included a 2018 tour in Argentina, Spain, Chile and Brazil.
Nowadays she is touring in her “Summer tour 2019” that includes México, Spain, Canada and United States. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
