Mascara Lyrics

Yeah my hair and my ass fake, but so what?
I get my rent paid with it and my tits get me trips
To places I can't pronounce right
He said he'd keep it coming if I keep my body tight
And them bitches stay mad cause I'm living the life
'Cause I'm living the life, oh
Most people think I'm shallow
'Cause I'm always dressed like I'm going out to the club
But I gotta keep up cause it's new chicks poppin' up everyday
And they want the same thang

So I never leave the house without makeup on
I keep mascara in my pocket if I'm running to the market
'Cause you never know who's watching you
So I got to stay on, (I-I)I got to stay on
I got to stay on, I got to stay on
Said I got to stay on!

No, I ain't got a job, but so what?
I don't need it when I'm getting everything that I want
And everything that I ask for
I wear that freakum dress for daddy and he give me more
And them bitches stay mad cause they working so hard
While I'm working so smart, oh
It's a small price to pay when you're living this good
And it keep me in the hills, and it kept me out the hood
'Cause it's new chicks poppin' up everyday
And they want the same thang

So I never leave the house without the make-up on
I keep mascara in my pocket if I'm running to the market
'Cause you never know who's watching you
So I got to stay on, (I-I)I got to stay on
I got to stay on, I got to stay on
Said I got to stay on!

Now, I know why you're looking at me like that
It ain't attractive when you're looking at me like that
No, don't be mad cause while you're cooking
Dinner for your broke nigga
You could be in the gym working on your figure like me
So, don't I deserve to be privileged?
Don't I deserve to get the very best?
'Cause it ain't easy being this fine all the time
'Cause if it was, then we all could do it
But we can't, no no
So bitch don't kill my vibe, don't be mad cause you coach class
And I'm in that G-5
Beautiful girls run the whole world
That's why I got to stay on!

So I never leave the house without makeup on
I keep mascara in my pocket if I'm running to the market
'Cause you never know who's watching you
So I got to stay on, (I-I)I got to stay on
I got to stay on, I got to stay on
Said I got to stay on!

Oh oh
Yeah, she drive the dope boys crazy
She knows, all them hoes so jealous
Cause that ass, will make a man leave home, uh
That's why she keeps her mascara on, uuh uuu

Biography
Contemporary R&B rising star Jazmine Sullivan spent several years learning the ropes of the recording industry before signing to J Records and making her solo recording debut in 2008 with "Need U Bad."

The Philadelphia-based singer/songwriter began her career at a young age, making her national television debut on Showtime at the Apollo at age 11. Jazmine sang at Stevie Wonder's birthday party at age 13 and signed to Jive Records at age 15. Her stint at Jive Records only lasted a couple years, however, and she was dropped by the label before any recordings were released. In the wake of this disappointment, she began working behind the scenes, for instance working with Missy Elliott on productions for Fantasia's debut album, Free Yourself (2004), and writing a couple songs for Christina Milian's third album, So Amazin' (2006), including the hit single "Say I." Sullivan was then offered a solo recording contract with J Records, which released her debut single, "Need U Bad," featuring and co-produced by Missy Elliott, in 2008. Fearless, her full-length album debut, featuring productions by Salaam Remi and Stargate, among others, was issued that September. US Singles were Need U Bad, Bust Your Windows and Lions, Tigers & Bears. Dream Big was the fourth single in the US and first single in the UK.

In 2009 Sullivan hit the studio again to record songs for her sophomore record. Released on November 29th, 2010, Love Me Back was a contemporary R&B album with touches of pop, soul, urban dance and a song with a gospel-like chorus. Production was done by Anthony Bell, Missy Elliott, Toby Gad, Chuck Harmony, Cainon Lamb, Los da Mystro, Ne-Yo, No I.D., Prolyfic and Salaam Remi. The first single Holdin' You Down (Going In Circles) peaked at number 3 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Chart. The following and final single 10 Seconds reached a high of 18 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Chart.

On October 7, 2011 J Records along with Arista and Jive disbanded and will from now on release material under RCA Records.

Jazmine's junior effort is called "Reality Show" released in 2015. The first single was called "Dumb" feat. Meek Mill. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
