Money (feat. Beenie Man) Lyrics

Money don't say you love me
Cash won't make me stay
I came here with my own things
And I can leave the same way

And if you really cared babe
You would spend your time
If you don't understand
You can't afford mine so

Ain't a pre-madonna
So I can't fall in love with material things
You need to offer more than chains and dimond rings
I need to know that theres a place for me deep in your heart
I don't give a damn, 'bout your credit card so

Money don't say you love me
Cash won't make me stay
I came here with my own things
And I can leave the same way

And if you really cared babe
You would spend your time
If you don't understand
You can't afford mine no

I must admit it I was fine with your talkin' an gifts to start
Now all thats wanted is to know I got your heart
I have no idea, 'bout where this is gonna go
I don't really care, for your ammount a' dough
Money don't say you love me
Cash won't make me stay
I came here with my own things
And I can leave the same way

And if you really cared babe
You would spend your time
If you don't understand
You can't afford mine no

So you think I got a price tag on me?
Just a' flash your cash and your all I see (all I see)
Well let me tell you something you couldn't be more wrong about me.
All your fancy cars they just don't turn me on, got me wrong
Make all the money that you can coz money don't make a man

(beenie man)
they say that will be your one and only
promise promise money never get you crazy
and now you flexin with some friends
and so me sing say

money cant buy my love
a for me security love for me own insurity
because money cant buy my love
and me sing again
money cant buy my love

and em sing say
money cant but my love
woman you have the right and have fe dress up everyday and look nice cause
money cant buy my love
woman i no the house that you have i know the benz that you drive cause
money cant buy my love
woman you have the perfect heart and me love you from start cause
money cant buy my love
and me sing again

Money don't say you love me
Cash won't make me stay
I came here with my own things
And I can leave the same way
And if you really cared babe
You would spend your time
If you don't understand
You can't afford mine no

Money can't buy my love
Money can't buy my love
Money cant buy my love

Jamelia was born Jamelia Davis in Birmingham, United Kingdom on January 11 1981. She was signed to Parlophone at the young age of 15, after impressing record executives with self-written a capella songs. In 2000, at age 18, she released her first album Drama. The most successful single was “Money” which featured guest vocals from Beenie Man which went top 5. She was nominated for five Mobo Awards which celebrate music of black origin in 2000, winning one.

Afterwards she retired (temporarily) from music business to give birth to a baby girl in March 2001. While bringing up her daughter Teja, Jamelia made plans for a comeback and in 2003 her sophomore album Thank You was released. The album went top 5 in the UK and sold over half a million copies. It featured her fifth top 40 hit, "Superstar", a cover of Danish singer Christine Milton's song, which gave her international success in Europe, Australia and New Zealand. The single shot to #1 in Australia and was certified "platinum". Follow up single “Thank You” went to number 2 in the UK and the track “See It In A Boy’s Eyes” which was co-written with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin also entered the top 5.

That year Jamelia won a record breaking three MOBO awards, winning all of the awards that she was nominated for and she was also one of the nominees for the Mercury Music Prize which celebrates the best of British music.

In the autumn of 2004 she also was asked to contribute to the Band Aid 20 single "Do They Know It's Christmas?". She had a big role in the song, singing with fellow British singer Will Young. She also recorded the theme song for the second Bridget Jones movie, a cover of Sam Brown’s song “Stop”. Like her previous songs this also went top 10.

Her third album, "Walk With Me" is out in the shops now, and features the hit singles "Something About You" and "Beware Of The Dog", which samples 'Personal Jesus' by Depeche Mode.
