In a world finding safety in comfort zones, up-and-coming band, Trichome, does not hesitate to branch out and experiment. Based out of Northern Colorado, the self-proclaimed “world-jam-reggae” band never settles for complacency. This 6-member outlet strives for constant improvement and evolving their sound to the next level. Lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist, Evan Daldegan, describes their mish-mash of influences best: “If our music is a tree, the trunk of the tree is reggae—roots and dub. From there, there are many branches, all of different styles.” Despite their diverse sound palate, the process and execution remains organic. Tenor saxophonist and keyboardist, Michael Windham adds, “Nothing feels forced. There is not one main songwriter—our music is a collaborative effort. That’s the advantage of our diverse musical backgrounds.” From fan favorites like “Story” to trance jam groove “1601” to Fela Kuti and Bill Withers covers, Trichome is sure to draw a crowd that is dancing and craving the next big thing in this transcendental music project.
