StephenBard has been a professional musician since 1987.

An accomplished vocalist, he is also proficient at the guitar, piano, bass and drums. He has written, recorded and released five CDs of original material beginning with Splashing Children/Sex Politics in 1994, and moving through Inching Ever Closer in 2000, Night Nude Luge in 2002, The Old Neighborhood in 2004 and Ocean Waves in 2005. He is currently finishing up a new double album, tentatively titled Somewhere In Between and slated for a summer 2009 release.

"...The covers were more original than any original artists I had ever caught live. You and Todd seemed like one entity, and, at the same time, you made more cohesive noise than any 10 piece band I had ever heard. I could sit there, from first song to the last, without ever being distracted or sidetracked. It was insane. You would stare through the crowd and go off to God knows where in your head, and then you would channel something I had never seen and just rock the fucking shit out of the place. Five minutes later people were laughing and dancing like it was just one more dance club. The thing was, those same people wouldn't walk away when you freaked out or became that impist, Prince-like sex fiend, guitar-wielding demon. They all ate all of it up. It was at those shows in Nyack that I realized what a polished musician was, what an artist was, and what it meant to be an entertainer."
(Steev Richter.)

Influences include but are not limited to The Beatles, Prince, Joni Mitchell, Elvis Costello, and Pete Townshend. His music affectively blends pop, rock, funk, and folk. Stephen also has the unique ability to cover a massive array of songs completely from memory. At local cover gigs he has been affectionately called the "human jukebox." Read more on Last.fm.
