Shelly Lares, singer/songwriter, ventured into the music world at age ten. Twenty-eight years later she became one of Tejano's Greatest Superstars Shelly caught her break by singing “Let Me Be There” by Olivia Newton John at her sister's wedding. Within minutes Shelly became the new lead singer of the band called, “Hot Tamales.”

After four years with the Hot Tamales, she decided she wanted more on a national level, through hard work and perseverance she would get there. Therefore, Shelly preformed at local venues in San Antonio to gain more exposure and stay in the public eye. Shelly caught the right eye. Manny Guerra of Manny Records, a well respected producer in the Tejano industry. Manny took an interest in the 5'1' red headed bombshell with a one of a kind boisterous raspy voice and made her a star with “Soy tu Amor.” Shelly Lares, aka “Little Miss Dynamite,” was born and became a household name.

As her career skyrocketed she toured all over the world and performed for Armed Forces Entertainment (AFE) in Japan, Guam, Korea and Alaska for the men and women of all branches of the military.

“It takes a true America warrior to embark and complete a 30 plus day adventure all over the world,” said Captain Trevor Garrett Pacific Rim Coordinator, AFE.

Shelly was relentless and because of this attitude she achieved numerous Tejano Music Awards such as: Female Vocalist of the Year, Female Entertainer of the Year, Vocal Duo of the Year and a nominee in the Domestic and Latin Grammy's.

Shelly not only sings Tejano, she is an aspiring country artist who had the pleasure to open for country stars such as Leann Rimes, Clay Walker, and Tracey Lawrence. She collaborated with country super star Vince Gill and recorded the album,” Shelly.”

Shelly is a strong believer in giving back to her community, therefore, she gives motivational speeches in elementary schools up to colleges on “The Importance of being a Successful Latina Woman in Today's Industry.”

Recently, Shelly's most admirable award was being inducted into the Tejano Music Hall of Fame in Alice, TX. She was the youngest to receive this recognition. So what’s next for Lil Miss Dynamite, “I feel like there is lots of room to grow in Tejano music, and I want to be around for it,” said Shelly.

With her new single “Maldito Corazon” and the launch of her new label, Shell Shock Records 3, Shelly is taking Tejano to a whole new level.
