Oasis Lyrics

Don't let the sun beat you down
Steal your crown
Hold your head to the ground
Just keep on walking

Don't let your soul lose control
Let you roll down the mountain you climbed

Don't let the sand blind your eyes
Realize they're only lies and
Keep on walking

Let it cover you with grace
Let it take you from this place
And as your heart races
Pack your suitcases
And in the middle of the desert
There's an Oasis

Don't let your bones turn to stone
Cause you're feeling so alone
Just keep on walking

Don't count the miles
That you've climbed
Make you go blind
Cause baby there's something to find

Don't hide you eyes from the light
Just hold on tight
And soon it'll be alright

Let it cover you with grace
Let it take you from this place
And as your heart races
Pack your suitcases
And in the middle of the desert
There's an Oasis

And you know that it's closer than you think
And you know that if you're the first to blink
And you know you gotta swim before you sink so
Low

Let it cover you with grace
Let it take you from this place
And as your heart races
Pack your suitcases
And in the middle of the desert
There's an Oasis

Grace Potter & the Nocturnals is an American rock band from Vermont. Formed in 2002 in Waitsfield by drummer Matt Burr, guitarist Scott Tournet, and singer Grace Potter, they began their career as an indie band, self-producing their albums and touring extensively in the jam bands and music festivals circuit, playing as many as 200 gigs in a year. In 2005 they signed for Hollywood Records and have subsequently released albums encompassing rock sub-genres such as blues rock, folk rock, hard rock, and alternative rock. Their third, self-titled album (released in 2010) was a major commercial success, topping the iTunes charts and receiving international attention.

Grace Potter whose dynamic vocal ability has drawn comparisons to legends Bonnie Raitt, Aretha Franklin and Janis Joplin and more recently Sheryl Crow and Joan Osborne. Her unique style behind the Hammond B-3 and piano is also gaining widespread recognition. The original lineup included Scott Tournet (guitar/slide guitar), Matthew Burr (drums/percussion), and Bryan Dondero (upright/electric bass). After Dondero parted ways with the Nocturnals in March 2009, they brought in Catherine Popper (bass) and also added Benny Yurco (rhythm guitar).

They have toured with national acts such as Taj Mahal, Trey Anastasio, Dave Matthews Band, The Black Crowes, Derek Trucks, Gov't Mule and Robert Cray. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
