Old Love / New Love (feat. D'Angelo Lacy) Lyrics

What am I supposed to say?
An old love called me yesterday
And she sounds so sweet
Why, she sounds so

Drill me to the floor
This hurts even more than I expected it to do
Woo-hoo-ooh
Woo-hoo-ooh

Drill me to the floor
This hurts even more than I expected it to do
Woo-hoo-ooh
Woo-hoo-ooh

Woo-hoo-ooh
Woo-hoo-ooh
Woo-hoo-ooh
(drill me to the floor)
Woo-hoo-ooh
(this hurts even more)

Woo-hoo-ooh (oh, oh, oh, oh, oh-oh, oh, oh, oh)
Woo-hoo-ooh (oh-oh, oh, oh, oh, oh-oh, oh, oh, oh)
Woo-hoo-ooh (oh-oh, oh, oh, oh, oh-oh, oh, oh, oh)
Woo-hoo-ooh (oh-oh, oh, oh, oh, oh-oh-oh, wo-oh)

Like the moon says to the dark
We will never be apart
I'll never be alone again
'Cause it was you who called me out
When I couldn't shut my mouth
'Bout the last love that did me in

I couldn't sleep
You said just sleep with me
I couldn't speak
You said I'm listening
And if it breaks me down
I'll be around
Until it's you, love, you're my new love

Drill me to the floor
This hurts even more than I expected it to do
Woo-hoo-ooh
Woo-hoo-ooh

Woo-hoo-ooh
(drill me to the floor)
Woo-hoo-ooh
(this hurts even more)

Woo-hoo-ooh (oh, oh, oh, oh, oh-oh, oh, oh, oh)
Woo-hoo-ooh (oh-oh, oh, oh, oh, oh-oh, oh, oh, oh)
Woo-hoo-ooh (oh-oh, oh, oh, oh, oh-oh, oh, oh, oh)
Woo-hoo-ooh (oh-oh, oh, oh, oh, oh-oh-oh, wo-oh)

Oh love, it's been so long
Why you gotta call and hurt me, hurt me?
Oh love, it's been so long
Why you gotta call and hurt me, hurt me?

Oh love
It's been so long
Why you gotta call and hurt me, hurt?

And I love you still
Why, I love you

Twin Shadow is the stage name of American musician George Lewis Jr., who was born in the Dominican Republic and raised in Florida before eventually relocating to Brooklyn in New York, New York. Adopting the Twin Shadow moniker, he released his debut album, 'Forget', in 2010.

Produced by Chris Taylor of Grizzly Bear, the album has been described by critics as "steeped in 1980s new wave", "building from streaks of haunting synth textures", and full of "hazily new wave-tinged pop". Twin Shadow was the Rolling Stone "Band of the Week" on October 7, 2010. His 2012 sophomore album, 'Confess', also received strong critical acclaim, featuring the fan-favorite song "Five Seconds".

Popmatters spoke for many music critics about 'Confess' when it ran a review declaring, "Lewis's ultra-confident, high-gloss sincerity is more often than not pretty hard to resist." Having spent the past many months touring, he recently released a brand new single titled "To The Top". The tune made its TV debut on June 3, 2014 during Conan O'Brien's show, gaining an enthusiastic audience response.
