Only a Year or So... Lyrics

I want you to come home.
I'm tired of being alone.
And it's making me sick not knowing if you're safe and alright
The kids are growing up so fast.
And knowing you're missing them.
And they're missing you, has given me a pain so deep inside.
Something from this world cant explore.
Lately I feel like I've been becoming someone else.
Someone I don't recognise, and someone I don't even like.
I need you here to help me remember what it's like to truly be alive.
Everyday I try my best to not get completely overwhelmed with you being gone.
Please tell me how to be strong.
Because everyday I am so worried I could lose you.
There are so many things going on, so many things I want to share with you.
I'm selfish for wanting you home, I know, but I really cant help it.
I need you.
We need you.
I love you completely.
I just want you to come home.

Only a year or so they said...
You wont miss out on anything.
Save me from, free me from dispair.
I just want you to come home.
When the world is really dead.

I lay at night thinking of you and the kids.
Trying to put this into perspective of this day in the world.
So much is happening in my life and I cant seem to put a finger on who I am.
And these are the times I wonder what I was thinking.
I mean what the hell was I thinking.
Everyone says we're heroes, but I feel like I've abandoned you.
I could feel the blood racing through my body, and know that I'm growing distant from the world.

Only a year or so they said...
You wont miss out on anything.
Save me from, free me from dispair.
And know that I'm growing distant from the world.
When the world's really dead.
The wait is over.
Stuck inside this mess.
Dying to hold, you're all on your own.
Praying to get out alive.
Alive, praying to get out alive.
Alive, praying to get out alive.

36 Crazyfists are a metalcore/nu metal band from Anchorage, Alaska. Their sound is characterised by unique vocals and intelligent songwriting.

They were originally signed by Roadrunner Records. In 2006 they signed to the DRT Entertainment label for American distribution of "Rest Inside The Flames", as Roadrunner US kept pushing the release date back. They remained on Roadrunner UK label, where they received good support in Europe. In July of 2007, the band signed to Ferret Records on a wordwide deal.

The band formed in December 1994 in Anchorage, Alaska. Initally playing Rapcore, their major label debut Bitterness The Star took the band in their current Metalcore direction. 36CF consists of four members, Brock Lindow (vocals), Steve Holt (guitar), Brett Makowski (bass) and Thomas Noonan (drums). After the release of their debut album Bitterness The Star in 2002, they began to tour the US with bands including Candiria, God Forbid, Chimaira, Diecast, and Hotwire.

After their US tour they went to Europe to begin the European Road Rage tour with Killswitch Engage and Five Pointe O. When this tour was over, the band took time off to write new material for their second album 'A Snow Capped Romance' which was released in 2004 and produced by James Wisner, who worked with Dashboard Confessional and Further Seems Forever.

The Band's name comes from an old kung-fu movie featuring Jackie Chan. The title of the movie is called "Jackie Chan and the 36 Crazy Fists".

Their album 'Rest Inside The Flames' Includes Jonah Jenkins of Miltown, and Howard Jones and Tom Gomes of Killswitch Engage.

In 2008 the band released their first album on Ferret Music, The Tide And Its Takers. Only a few months later bass player Mick Whitney decided to leave the band to take care of his new-born daughter.
