Ordinary Idols Lyrics

I spiral down again
Such a struggle just to keep an ordinary love
Ain't got the time for friends
Why am I working so hard and barely keeping up?

Who remains when you drop?
Who to call when it stops?
I spiral down again
Somebody protect me or I'm gone

Why would you idolize me?
There's nothing I got that you don't
You keep on fantasizing
I'll always be the underdog
Give me more
Give me more
I'm the one you that you ignored
Give me more
Give me more
I'm the one you that you ignored

Where'd you find your confidence?
Are you willing to make a fool out of yourself?
It's a curse of common sense
We all wanna be something different, someone else

You become what you watch
What I learned can't be taught
Imitation is not a sin
You are only guilty if you're caught

Why would you idolize me?
There's nothing I got that you don't
You keep on fantasizing
I'll always be the underdog
Give me more
Give me more
I'm the one you that you ignored
Give me more
Give me more
I'm the one you that you ignored

This city's made for dreaming
It's like a Garden of Eden
Before the apple eating
We would just sleep and drink and play all day
But you will never fall in love
Oh you wanna be lifted up
You just wanna fall in love
No you will never fall in love

Why would you idolize me?
There's nothing I got that you don't
Obsessing, fantasizing
I'll always be the underdog
Give me more
Give me more
Give me more, give me more, give me more
I'm the one you that you ignored

Formed in 2004, the band's breakthrough debut Robbers & Cowards was released to considerable acclaim in 2006. The darker Loyalty To Loyalty followed two years later, and 2011's Mine Is Yours introduced deeper anthemic qualities to the eclectic group's catalog.

Dear Miss Lonelyhearts, which features the rollicking, energetic single "Miracle Mile," is Cold War Kids' first release with former Modest Mouse and Murder City Devils guitarist Dann Gallucci, who also handled its production alongside Lars Stalfors.

"We were shaken up, ready to let certain songs go further than before by trying new styles and arrangements, while keeping others sparse and caring more about the finished product and less about how we got there," explains frontman Nathan Willet about the ten-track album, which was recorded at the band's private studio in San Pedro, CA.
