Dan Miraldi is a Cleveland-based rock’n’roller who started fronting rock bands such as The Cherry Flavored Elevator and Exit Suburbia at the age of seventeen. In the five years since, Dan has been a regular in the Cleveland music scene performing at the Grog Shop, the Agora Ballroom, the Phantasy, Peabody’s, the Hi/Fi and the late-great Odeon. His musical journey has found him on the same bill as a wide variety of musical acts including indie-rockers like the Fiery Furnaces, punk bands like Trendy, and even hip-hop artists like the Cool Kids, Blackalicious and Wiz Kalifa.
However, in 2009, after graduating from the College of Wooster with a BA in English, Dan decided it was time to record his first solo album, Thirsty. Composed of his original material, the independently-released album was produced by Dan and musician David Rankin, with the guidance of award-winning executive producer, Jim McKell. The album is refreshingly auto-tune free, (because Dan can actually sing) and was recorded in Rankin’s living room using a 16-track recorder, creating a gritty warmth to the tracks. Thirsty is a genre-bending and clever collection of songs ranging from Americana ballads to Punk-influenced rockers. Dan’s biggest musical heroes are the Beatles, the Format, the Ramones, Dylan, the Rolling Stones, Green Day, the White Stripes, the Who, Lou Reed and Elvis. Thirsty is available through CD Baby and itunes. Check it out!
In more recent news, Dan Miraldi is also a part of the DC music scene by playing keys and singing with the Silver Liners, which is fronted by fellow- Cherry Flavored Elevator alumn, Jay Nemeyer. Although still pursuing a solo career, Dan commutes between the two projects. Read more on Last.fm.
