Bears in Trees is a band from Croydon, South London, which formed in 2014 after the dissolution of The November Criminals - a band that three out of the four members in the band were members of. They make music that could be described as various genres, but prefer to refer to themselves with the term "dirtbag boyband".
The members are:
- George Berry (He/Him), a.k.a. Berru
- Iain Gillespie (They/Them), a.k.a. pet yeti
- Callum Litchfield (He/Him)
- Nicholas "Nick" Peters (He/Him), a.k.a. dinosaurfightclub
Their first album, Let's Sleep On It, was released in 2015 and (as of April 2025) is only available on Bandcamp and Soundcloud.
Their earliest release on other services, like Spotify, is the single for their song "Good Rhymes for Bad Times", which was released in August 2017. This was followed shortly after by the release of their second album, Just Five More Minutes.
Between 2017 and 2021, they released various singles and EPs. One of these EPs - I Want To Feel Chaotic - features the song "Ramblings of a Lunatic", which as of April 2025 remains their most popular song.
Their third album, and everybody else smiled back was released in November of 2021, and was accompanied with three singles and an ARG (Alternate Reality Game) pre-release.
In 2022, the band released the song 'Precipitation', as well as their most recent EP, Every Moonbeam Every Feverdream, before releasing four singles (one in collaboration with NOAHFINNCE) in 2023.
The band also released an EP - before you got here - in 2023, that if bought entered the buyer into a raffle where they could win Bears In Trees-related memorabilia, including lifetime tickets. The EP is no longer available for purchase. The tracks on the EP are 'revisited' songs from earlier in the band's life, including two songs from Let's Sleep On It.
In 2024, the band released their fourth album How to Build an Ocean: Instructions, their first album release after their departure from Counter Intuitive Records. This album, much like and everybody else smiled back, was accompanied by an ARG.
In early May of 2025, the band released the first single of their new era - Left, Right, Goodnight!. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
