Poor Wayfaring Stranger (feat. The Swingles) Lyrics

I am a poor wayfaring stranger
While travelling through this world of woe
But there's no sickness, toil or danger
In that bright land, to which I go

I'm going there to see my father
I'm going there no more to roam
I'm just a going over Jordan
I'm just a going over home

I know dark clouds will gather round me
I know my way is rough and steep
Yet golden fields lie just before me
Where God's redeemed, no more shall weep

I'm going there to see my mother
She said she'd meet me when I come
I'm just a going over Jordan
I'm just a going over home

I'll soon be free from earthly trials
My body sleep in the old churchyard
I'll drop the cross of self denial
And enter in my great reward

I'm going, I'm going there to see my savior
I'm going there no more to roam
I'm just a going over Jordan
I'm just a going over home

Over Home, Over Home
I'm just a going over home
