London based band The Sound Movement began their journey from Melbourne, Australia in Feb 2004. The journey took them across 3 continents in the creation of their self made debut "Ichi Go Ichi E". From Australia to Tokyo, Japan, and the finally to the U.K. They completed the album riding a wave of duress and loosely structured adventure in a spontaneous yet ill-planned journey. The bulk of the album was recorded while living often penniless in Tokyo, Manchester and London, a soundtrack to the journey.

Ichi Go Ichi E was first released by the well respected Oxford label Truck Records. When first released it received the accolade of Album of the Week in Organ Magazine, airplay on BBC6 radio and was widely respected for its DIY new-gaze pop tunes.

Playlouder Magazine

“In their music, Marr’s classical jangle and the Roses breathy groove are married… its pristine, ornate and a breezy open-top thrill”

Incredibly around the same time as Andrew's assault Graham, the band's new permanent member was also taken to hospital with a sudden serious illness....

2009 MEMORY AND THE HUMAN HEART

..Somehow after all this drama the band managed to pull it together and record their EP Memory and the Human Heart in 2009. This EP is now due for re-issue on December 1st 2009 available on all online retailers through Shifting Sounds.

RE-ISSUE

Now, after being unavailable for some time the album that documents the original journey Ichi Go Ichi E (with the artwork a gift from their friend in Tokyo- Hisashi Ogura and featuring a photo from the window of the house the band lived in in Tokyo) is released comprehensively online. Listen to the biopic and share in the adventure, we give you
