Mr. Hunter is a Hoboken rock band created by Chris Marcus and is based on groove, freedom of improvisation, and songwriting that comes from life experience and the many musicians he has listened to and played with. Like most of the things we do the musical process starts with the people we are influenced by, but needs life experience to eventually create its own voice with something to say. Influences such as Beethoven, Pink Floyd, The Dixie Dregs, Stevie Wonder, Phish and countless others are all present in the music and are combined through their shared element of groove and Mr. Hunter’s own voice.

Mr. Hunter’s music is about nature, the emotions we feel, people we meet, and how we see the world. After years of searching for our groove we finally stopped looking and allowed it to find us (funny how that always seems to work). The result is the music here which can be interpreted in different ways but is designed to be a positive reflection of all the freedom and beauty that makes music special. And if you start with rhythm and grooves that people can dance to you can’t really go wrong, right?
