Ruby Lyrics

I've been foolish and blind,
Time after time, girl, I've let you down.
And I'm losing my mind,
Tryin' to find a way to show you now,
That you are all I want.
You are all I want.

Girl, I'm down on my knees,
Begging you please, I need another chance.
But you're not looking at me,
Are you hearing my plea?
Won't you take my hand?

()
'Cause Ruby, you're all that I want,
My heart and my treasure.
Ruby, you're all that I need,
For now and forever.

You are all I want.
You are all I want.

I know that talk is cheap,
And words seem weak,
Coming from this broken man.
Still, I will speak, 'cause I can't sleep,
Until you truly understand.

()

Don't want diamonds or gold,
When I've got my ruby to hold.
You know I'm in ecstasy,
I cant ever get enough.

Don't want platinum or pearls,
I'd trade all the jewels in the world,
Just to have you next to me.
I can't live Without your love, no...

You are all I want.

Dustin Kensrue (born November 18, 1980) is the vocalist, lyricist, and rhythm guitarist in the Orange County post-hardcore quartet Thrice, as well as a solo artist.

Dustin also has a solo acoustic side project under his own name. He had toured in past years on his own under the moniker "Ursus Veritas," but decided to drop the name in favor of simplicity since "people have enough trouble just pronouncing [his] last name to begin with." The name was a play-on-words of its Latin components: Ursus meaning bear, and Veritas meaning truth. Kensrue has been quoted as saying there is no real special significance to the name, other than he likes bears, and thought it sounded cool.

On January 23, 2007, Kensrue released a solo album titled "Please Come Home" under his name, Dustin Kensrue and on the label Equal Vision Records. It includes the tracks "I Knew You Before," "Pistol," "I Believe," "Please Come Home," "Blood & Wine," "Consider The Ravens," "Weary Saints," and "Blanket Of Ghosts." He wrapped up the recording and mixing of the album at the home of fellow Thrice member Teppei Teranishi. The album opened at 142 on the Billboard 200 with 5,800 copies sold. He supported the album with a solo tour including stops on David Letterman's talk show and The Fuse Network.
