When it comes to piano concerti, few artists have played as wide a range to such great acclaim as Christina Petrowska Quilico. Her live performances run the gamut from the Bach D minor to such warhorses as Beethoven's "Emperor", the Grieg and Chopin E minor, and to the 20th century established masterworks- including the Bartok First, Strauss "burleske", the three Prokofieff and Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue".
Petrowska Quilico was only 10 in her orchestral debut, playing the Haydn D major Concerto with Toronto's Conservatory Orchestra. At 15 in New York, as a competition co-winner-with Murray Perahia- she played Moazart's K 488 in A major with orchestra. The New York Times hailed her as a "promethean talent", and later as "an extraordinary talent with phenomenal ability...dazzling virtuosity", playing "to perfection".
Included in her 23 (and counting) recordings of classical, romantic and new music are a Juno-nominated performance with the Winnipeg Symphony and a Centrediscs CD "Eclipse" which debuted on the Space Shuttle Atlantis. A Juilliard graduate she has played in major halls such as Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Centre and in centres throughout Europe, Canada, the Middle East and Taiwan. Read more on Last.fm.
