The Widow Babies are a Southern California four piece band consisting of drummer/lyricist Tabor Allen, guitarist Danny Miller, bassist Neal Marquez and vocalist Elise McCutchen. Their first release, The Mike Watt EP, is a concept album about Minutemen and fIREHOSE bassist Mike Watt and his battle with a vampiric Abraham Lincoln. The album was recorded in a single 8-hour session.

The group's second album, Jetpacks was released on Jim Smith's Olfactory Records as a one-sided 12" clear vinyl record. Jetpacks features lush production (from Asthmatic Kitty recording artist Chris Schlarb) and only one song that exceeds two minutes in length. Widow Babies songs contain musical traces of African highlife guitar, complex polyrhythmic drum patterns, high pitched vocal stabs and nimble bass playing. Read more on Last.fm.
