Colour of Fire is an alternative rock band based in York, England. Formed in late 2001 by co-songwriters Owen Richards and Stuart Jones, they recruited Thom Craigen on bass and Matthew Lunn on drums.

The band signed to Riverman Records, after Steve Lamaca played “Decisions, Decisions" on BBC Radio One. They performed live sessions for Radio One's "Rock Show" and were selected as "Single of the Week" on Zane Lowe's XFM show. The band's second single, " Cut It," received regular rotation on MTV2.

Taking their name from a track by Boards Of Canada, the band extensively toured the UK and Europe, supporting Placebo, The Libertines, The Bronx, The Kills, The Icarus Line, Silverchair, Sparta and others. They also toured Japan, supporting Korn in Osaka and Tokyo at 'SonicMania'.

In summer 2003 the band recorded their debut album with Steve Osbourne at Rockfield and Real World Studios. 'Pearl Necklace' was released in 2004 by Riverman in the UK, PIAS in Europe and King Records in Japan.

Colour of Fire supported Placebo on a European tour in 2004, including consecutive nights at London's Brixton Academy. In 2005, the band was burned out and disbanded to explore other projects. Owen formed Grammatics, Stuart moved to Berlin and formed Die Zerstörten, and Matt Lunn joined Placebo on drums.

In 2023, after a two-decade hiatus, the band announced reunion shows in the UK and will release a new album titled 'All The Wolves I Have Known' in 2025. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
