G.V.Prakash is the nephew of noted composer,Oscar winner A.R.Rahman. He is the only son of Mr.Venkatesh and famous singer, A. R. Reihana,who is the sister of A. R. Rahman.He was first introduced by Robo fame S.Sankar in Veyil which was an instant hit in 2006.
