Sløtface, formerly known as Slutface, is a Norwegian indie punk band formed in Stavanger in 2012. The group was originally created by vocalist Haley Shea and guitarist Tor-Arne Vikingstad, who began writing songs together. They were later joined by drummer Halvard Skeie Wiencke, who had previously played in a hardcore band with Vikingstad, and bassist Lasse Lokøy. The band's name, chosen to attract attention and convey their feminist message, became an issue with social media platforms, prompting them to change it to Sløtface on April 1, 2016, although it is still pronounced the same way.

Their first single, "Angst," was released in 2014, and the band signed with Propeller Recordings in 2015. In October 2015, they released "Shave My Head," followed by "Kill Em With Kindness" in January 2016. Their next single, "Sponge State," was released shortly after their name change in April 2016, and it became the lead track for their debut EP of the same name. Later in 2016, they released the Empire Records EP, which included singles like "Take Me Dancing" and "Bright Lights," with the title track referencing the 1990s cult films Empire Records and High Fidelity.

In 2017, Sløtface announced their debut album, Try Not to Freak Out, along with the release of its first single, "Magazine." The album was released on September 15, 2017, and was well-received. Following this, the band embarked on an extensive tour across the UK, Europe, and Australia. Their second album, Sorry for the Late Reply, was announced in October 2019 and released on January 31, 2020, to positive reviews.

On June 13, 2022, the band announced that bassist Lasse Lokøy and guitarist Tor-Arne Vikingstad would be leaving the group, marking a significant lineup change.

Sløtface has gained recognition not only for their energetic pop-punk sound but also for their outspoken feminist lyrics and activism. The band's 2016 single "Sponge State" garnered attention for its music video, which featured the band performing atop Norway's Førde Fjord in support of protests against the Nordic Mining company's environmental practices. The protest resulted in the arrest of over 80 activists, and the video served to amplify the group's environmental advocacy.

Sløtface has consistently used their platform to speak out on women's rights and equality, participating in events such as International Women's Day marches in Norway and speaking out on these issues during interviews, including one with CNN during their 2017 appearance at SXSW in Austin, Texas. Their music frequently tackles feminist themes, and they continue to use their voice to support gender equality and environmental causes. Read more on Last.fm.
