Once an aspiring video game designer born in Gary, Indiana; Gerald Bailey started making music at the age of 15 thanks to a bet between him and two friends on the way home from a trip to Six Flags Great America. He and his friends decided they wanted to start a group hobby and actually complete it. They settled on rapping and make music but needed someone to make the beats. What started out as a summer hobby, quickly transformed into a passion and G-Scott the rapper and producer was born.

He began to learn his way around production software such Fruity Loops 4 and Reason 3.0. Throughout his 4 years at Merrillville High School in Merrillville, Indiana; upcoming rappers referred to him as the “go to guy” in terms of production. It wasn’t until his senior year, when he began to take rapping more seriously because of his love for lyrics. He had dabbled in poetry in junior high school but wanted to combine his own production in a more up-tempo format. He began to network and trying to expand, moving more outside of just a local high school. “I want to be an actual musical force in the industry as far as my artistry”, says the now 19 year old emcee and producer. In order to reach the panicles he plans to reach he felt he needed to reach bigger markets with his music.

After his 1st semester of at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana; G-Scott released “The Billionaire Block Boy” mixtape. It lyrically documented the most important parts of his life at that point in time. From the stresses of adjusting to college, to the heartbreak brought on by some crazy exes; the mixtape touched on everything major and relevant that year in G-Scott’s life. The mixtape was met with warm reception on several online blog sites due to its mixture of conscious content, real life satire and catchy production. Talking about real life situations seemed to resonate with people listening to the music along with the personal touches that come a lot of times with artist who create their own instrumentals. This project was his first taste of exposure.

From the time G-Scott was in high school throughout his freshman year in college he met several new friends who had the same passion for music as him. He, Jahwon Cook, Lawrence Chafen, Nigel McGee and Michael Smith all formed Billionaire Block Boy Ent. LLC, with the new flagship artist being Gerald Bailey (G-Scott) and Michael Smith (Mic Smitty) leading the way. G-Scott along with his partner, Mic Smitty are both solo artists under the same collective music making team but have been performing together for the past few previous shows in an effort to build their buzz together as a team. By doing shows together they felt they could capture more new listeners and fans of genres they may not have reached before. Both have been gaining a nice internet buzz using this technique with the success of their solo mixtapes which together have generated over 6000+ downloads independently and recent song releases. G-Scott has opened for rappers such as Big Sean, Wiz Khalifa, Willie the Kid, Chip The Ripper and Travis Porter on separate occasions and has been featured on numerous blog sites online.

With G-Scott’s upcoming mixtape “The Billionaire Block Boy Vol.2: The Blackout” dropping this fall and a 5 song EP “Everything or Nothing” dropping Nov.28th 2010, he is expected to be a musical force representing Indiana and the Mid-West as a whole. He hopes to be a part of the new school of hip hop music making a living of it and bring a fresh breath of life into the industry through his real life, lyricism and artistic vision.
