Sleepers (Live at the Ryman) Lyrics

Where I live, what I live for
Is changing fast at my front door
If I could use my hands, become a better man
I might be all right

And as your world, is turning
The years unfurl to learning
Don't have to sleep to dream
There's rivers and there's streams
Burning in my mind

I might be killing the blue sky
I might be waiting a lifetime

But I don't need the sun, to know the day's begun
Don't need the stars, to know where we are
I wanna make it right, I just need more time
Hold on to yours, hold on to mine

Teach me to learn through your window
All that I've earned is where the wind blows
If I could use my hands, become a better man
I might be all right

I might be killing the blue sky
I might be waiting a lifetime

But I don't need the sun, to know the day's begun
Don't need the stars, to know where we are
I wanna make it right, I just need more time
Hold on to yours, hold on to mine

I might be waiting for nothing
I might be waiting a lifetime

But I don't need the sun, to know the day's begun
Don't need the stars, to know where we are
I wanna make it right, I just need more time
Hold on to yours, hold on to mine

I don't need the sun, oh
Don't need the stars to know where you are
I wanna make it right
I wanna make it right

Hold on to mine
Hold on to mine

Americana band The Wild Feathers formed in Austin, TX in 2010; when members Ricky Young, Joel King, Ben Dumas, Taylor Burns and Preston Wimberly met through coincidence, mutual friends, and a shared love of the classics: Petty, Dylan, Cash, The Band, Allman Bros, Neil Young and Willie Nelson. The young band spent the next year honing their sound and touring around the country, sharing the stage with Delta Spirit, Surfer Blood and The Heavy, even landing an opening spot on Paul Simon's 2011 fall tour. The band signed with Warner Bros. Records in 2013, and have released three albums on that label: their eponymous major-label debut hit the streets in the summer of 2013: "The Wild Feathers" (2013), "Lonely is a Lifetime" (2016), and "Greetings from the Neon Frontier" (their debut on Warner sublabel Reprise Records).
