Something About You Lyrics

I could talk to you for days
You make me laugh one thousand ways
And I realize, you fill me up
Like hot water in my teacup

I'm enchanted by your smile
I must admit it took a while
For me to see that this was somethin'
More than he's my friend, its nothin'

I hope to God you feel the way I feel
'Cause this could be amazing
Something so super real

There's something about you
And you don't even know it
I'm telling you now
That you got me good

There's something about you
And I can't help but show it
Damn right
You got me good

Now I'm not alone
With you I'm whole
I gotta let you know
You got me good

Your style, your voice, your points of view
The good, the bad and ugly too
Boy, I'll take it, give it to me
I'll be careful, give it to me

Addiction don't come close to this
Official is what this sh** is
Still I can't say it
No, I can't say that I'm in love

I hope to God you feel the way I feel
'Cause this could be amazing
Something so super real

There's something about you
And you don't even know it
I'm telling you now
That you got me good

There's something about you
And I can't help but show it
Damn right
You got me good

Now I'm not alone
With you I'm whole
I gotta let you know
You got me good

I just wanna be your all and all
I just wanna be the one to make you fall
I wanna take you away, I want you to be for me
I want you here with me forever, be my holiday, yeah

Oh yeah, let me take you away
There's something about you

There's something about you
And you don't even know it
I'm telling you now
That you got me good

There's something about you
And I can't help but show it
Damn right
You got me good

Now I'm not alone
With you I'm whole
I gotta let you know
You got me good

You got me
You got me good

Jamelia was born Jamelia Davis in Birmingham, United Kingdom on January 11 1981. She was signed to Parlophone at the young age of 15, after impressing record executives with self-written a capella songs. In 2000, at age 18, she released her first album Drama. The most successful single was “Money” which featured guest vocals from Beenie Man which went top 5. She was nominated for five Mobo Awards which celebrate music of black origin in 2000, winning one.

Afterwards she retired (temporarily) from music business to give birth to a baby girl in March 2001. While bringing up her daughter Teja, Jamelia made plans for a comeback and in 2003 her sophomore album Thank You was released. The album went top 5 in the UK and sold over half a million copies. It featured her fifth top 40 hit, "Superstar", a cover of Danish singer Christine Milton's song, which gave her international success in Europe, Australia and New Zealand. The single shot to #1 in Australia and was certified "platinum". Follow up single “Thank You” went to number 2 in the UK and the track “See It In A Boy’s Eyes” which was co-written with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin also entered the top 5.

That year Jamelia won a record breaking three MOBO awards, winning all of the awards that she was nominated for and she was also one of the nominees for the Mercury Music Prize which celebrates the best of British music.

In the autumn of 2004 she also was asked to contribute to the Band Aid 20 single "Do They Know It's Christmas?". She had a big role in the song, singing with fellow British singer Will Young. She also recorded the theme song for the second Bridget Jones movie, a cover of Sam Brown’s song “Stop”. Like her previous songs this also went top 10.

Her third album, "Walk With Me" is out in the shops now, and features the hit singles "Something About You" and "Beware Of The Dog", which samples 'Personal Jesus' by Depeche Mode.
