Somewhere Down in Texas Lyrics

When I look south I see the storm clouds roll
On their way to Old Mexico
I dont wanna be alone
And the rays of light through my Shiner Boch bottle
Make me wanna turn the key and put down the throttle
Get lost down 35

When I get tied down by the ties that bind
Seems like I'm never gonna find the time
To do what I need.

That's to find me a place where I can think
Talk about love, laugh, and drink.
And there's someone there who cares.

Chorus:
Cause no matter how big the storms
I know I can find me a place thats warm
The sun is shining somewhere in Texas
I hope its shining on her
Somewhere down in Texas

In a place that big a man could get lost
Never mind the time forget about the cost
Theres more important things

Shes somewhere smiling north of San Antone
Ive got her number but I stare at the phone
Cause I still want to believe

Chorus

To hell with horoscopes and empty dreams
To hell with Valentino and his cut off pair of jeans
Cause I know I can make it there
On a twelve pack and a prayer

Jason Boland & The Stragglers are a band from Stillwater, Oklahoma. Stillwater is a college town that is known for being the center of the red dirt music scene. It's where bands like Cross Canadian Ragweed became popular. JB&S started out around 1998. their sound leans more toward country than the rock & roll of Cross Canadian Ragweed. The newest release from JB&S is called "Comal County Blue" and is one of the fastest rising releases on the charts -- it was number one on itunes right after its release. It is one of the most popular independent releases of 2008. Jason Boland was born in Harrah, Oklahoma. The song on "Comal County Blue, "Sons and Daughters of Dixie", talks about Hurricane Katrina and the flooding in Mississippi and how the government in D.C. failed the people. The song "Bottle By My Bed" is about Jason's love and hate relationship with alcohol. "Comal County Blue" features a guest appearance by Robert Earl Keen and a song cowritten with Cody Canada from Cross Canadian Ragweed. Other release by JB&S include "Pearl Snaps", "The Truckstop Diaries", "The Bourbon Legend" and "Live at Billy Bob's". Lloyd Maines produced "Comal County Blue".
