MC Moe Pope's career first took off in the early 2000s with Bay Area-based Hip-Hop band Mission (who later became known as Crown City Rockers). After a series of 12" singles, Pope appeared on the group's LP, One, in 2001, before he decided to return to Boston, Massachusetts in order to look after his daughter. Back in his hometown, he connected with rapper/producer Insight and his five-man outfit, Electric (aka Electric Company). Along with members Anonymous and Raheem Jamal, Pope broke off from Electric to form Project Move, issuing their debut album, Love Gone Wrong/Butterfly Theory, in 2006. As each group's members went off to make solo records, Pope reunited with his former Crown City cohort Headnodic for the 2008 well received collaborative album Megaphone.

2010 finds Moe Pope with a new production partner and a new label for his latest and most mature work to date, Life After God. Produced (almost entirely – Headnodic does supply the last beat as a bridge to the next Megaphone project) by upstart beat smith Rain (who has laid tracks for Masta Ace, Blacastan, Day Laborers, and others), Life After God is what contemporary Hip-Hop should sound like; not scarred to take chances sonically but with it's roots firmly planted in traditional Boom Bap and Rock. The duo enlists the vocals of fellow Beantown legends Ed O.G. and Reks. Punk crooner/hypeman Chris Talkin and live instrumentation from Crown City Rockers alum. Brick Records is pleased to release this collective vision of Moe Pope and Rain, packaged in a 6 panel CD wallet and including full lyric sheets.

Envision the MC/Producer platform of Pete Rock & CL Smooth blended with the abstract prose of Bob Dylan and the pure adrenalin angst of Bad Brains and prepare for your Life After God.

Let The Right Ones In explores new sonic territory, as the duo weave their diverse musical talents to create an all original, sample-free work that blurs the lines between hip-hop, indie-rock and electronic music. Showcasing an impressive list of eclectic collaborators, the album features guest musicians Reks, John Robinson, Julia Easterlin, Dua Boakye of Bad Rabbits, Boycott Blues, Blacastan, Casso, Tea Leigh, Ceschi, Tan Vampires, and Lady Lamb the Bee Keeper. Pope's newest release promises to be his best yet, a wholly original culmination of a lifetime of experiences and influences.

Named "Best Hip-Hop Artist of the Year" at the recent Boston Music Awards, Moe Pope and Rain are rising to the top of the indie hip-hop scene, landing performance spots at Converse's Rubber Tracks recording studio as well as showcasing at this years' Converse's SxSW show.

In the live performance setting Moe Pope performs under the moniker Moe Pope & Quills, with regular members Rain on the Turntables, MPC and live drums; Christopher Talken on Mic #2, Michael McCarthy (of Wobblesauce) on Keys, and Liam Buell on Violin.

Let The Right Ones In was released on January 22, 2013 in select retail outlets worldwide. The Uber-Exclusive LP pressing was issued on a unique 2 tone colored record – split transparent vinyl and opaque blood red, keeping in time with the dark and gothic nature of the album's sonic landscape, mood and esthetic.

A CD version is also available in a limited edition package that sports a clear/transparent plastic printed O-Card housing a stunning 12-panel wallet which folds out to reveal an inverted cross displaying the albums credits and stunning photography. A separate insert is included that supplies the full lyrics sheets to the album and additional photography. Read more on Last.fm.
