For someone who hails from Death Valley, California, Jacob Steele has a very sunny disposition in life. He attributes that and his love for music to a kindhearted mother who would sing to him and his sisters every night before bed.

At the young age of 18, Jacob moved all the way east to the bright lights of New York City. By day, he would wait tables to fund the nights spent honing his craft in the local independent music scene.

Through one of many collaborations with other talented artists, Jacob soon met a woman named Sita Chandrika—who would later become his writing partner and, eventually, his wife.
