Formed in 1932, Pontoon began with a mainly big band sound, typical of that era and also a ton of harmonica. Originally the band wanted to call themselves "Harmonica Squad" but unfortunately that name was taken.

By the mid 90's the band had broken up and re-formed three times, and had just finished touring Asia. When they returned from Asia, the lead singer Scott Fogel started his own bagel shop in Memphis, Tennessee but it failed miserably and he declared bankruptcy at the ripe age of 83.

A reunion tour is planned for the summer of 2008, but will only occur in Indiana, Syracuse NY, and Memphis TN.

Scott Fogel is 7 feet 4 inches tall, wears clothing made primarily of compressed kelp weave, and has a collection of prized ninja stars he has collected throughout history.
