During a day and age where it seems like everyone you know is rapping or so called in the industry. It can be difficult to see through the rubbish and notice superior music and endowed artist. In the vibrant city of Dallas, TX a phenomenal artist by the name of Big Hud Da Heavyweight is steadily emerging as one of the top mc’s in a city that has become a hotbed for the music Industry. Big Hud may be new to some, but he has actually been in the game for a few years, and has had moderate success with singles such as “Hey” ft Bohagon and “Smell My Cologne” a street banger that created a lot of buzz across the south region. He has performed with major artist across the country such as Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Gorilla Zoe, Webbie, Baby, Jim Jones, and many more. He has even performed at strip clubs, conferences and showcases to name a few. “It’s been a blessing to do as much as I’ve done up to this point without a deal,” Says Big Hud “You have artist out here that’s been in the game for years with major deals and my resume is more impressive than theirs. To me, that speaks volumes about my work ethic and the passion I have for my craft”
“I sit back sometimes and laugh at the game because it’s so fake right now. Music is not genuine anymore, and artists are doing it for a quick buck making all these dance songs. What they don’t realize is they have no substance, and half the time fans don’t even know the artist’s name. They just know the name of the song. I would be embarrassed if I were the artist. I take pride in those types of things,” And that type of mentality is what separates Hud from the rest. From his high quality music to the inspirational vibe he gives off. He is definitely a force to be reckoned with for many years to come. It doesn’t stop there. Big Hud is also the founder /C.E.O. OF Big Boi Music Group and co founder of Still hungry Entertainment with long time friend Darien Morgan. “I’m trying to build an empire. It’s bigger than music to me. There is so much more I want to do that you wouldn’t hear from your typical artist. I’m learning about stocks, film production, and even opening a sushi bar. There is so much money out here, but you got to step outside the box to get it.”

Big Hud will make his debut with the well anticipated project “BIG BOI MUSIC” slated for release in fall of 2009. Hosted by mixtape heavyweight Dj Smallz (Mr. Southern Smoke). It features artist such as Juvenile, Bohagon, Big Chief, and more. It is headlined by the smash hit “I DO MY THANG” FT. Big Chief another Dallas heavyweight. “You know me and Chief the same kind of dude. We have both had nice things before the deal. So when I shot the track over to him he blessed it the same day and sent it back, and it’s been spinning ever since. Real recognize real and we just staying in our lane. I guarantee you it will pay off in the long run. Be on lookout for the video very soon.” With that being said Hud has a very distinctive delivery along with a wide range of music from hardcore street anthems like “KINDA GUY” to slow jamz for the ladies like “BALLER TYPE”. He even has a pop record “We Gone Party” that is lighting up dance floors across the country.

Besides being a exceptional artist, Hud has the ability to identify and develop talent. Which he illustrated by signing relative “Lone Shaud” out of Mobile, AL to his Big Boi Music imprint. “That’s my lil kinfolk there. It’s funny cause who would have ever thought we would be rapping. I was a pretty good football player coming out of high school with scholarships on deck, and he was in basketball. Injuries slowed me down, and Shaud just got side tracked by the streets, but everything happens for a reason” Says Big Hud. “We have two different styles but they complement each other. It’s like I bring him into my world and he brings me into his. We are eating on both sides of the fence.” The two have already collaborated on a hood banger that is spreading through the south like wildfire called “Da Dopeman”. A song that refers to a popular haircut style in Mobile AL, but in Dallas TX is referred to as a Shag. “The song can go either way depending on what you have going on in your life at the moment if you know what I mean.”

With an album slated to drop in early 2010, Big Hud is showing no signs of slowing down. You can find his music all over the internet from I Tunes to MySpace, and YouTube. Hud has major plans this upcoming year including some overseas performances that are in the works. “I got a lot to look forward to. I’m excited to see what direction my career is headed in. I’m sure for the better, but I know where ever there is success there are problems. To me your career is based upon how good you are able to overcome hardships and stay relevant. I plan on being around for a long time. Mark my Word.” Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
